Description

First off, this didn't actually start out as a drawing of this, I was just practicing drawing Stitch expressions based on the first and second movies and it just evolved into this. I swear that I don't do this to Stitch to get a sick kick!!!

But seriously, though. I think it's an intriguing idea when executed right. But I don't see a whole lot of stories that are. There are the occasional ones, sure, but nothing that sticks out to me personally. And it goes double with Stitch and his ohana. It's a good source of drama mostly because it is always a fear we have, of losing a family member or friend to a disease of some sort. Stitch is a character who is a good choice to explore this with. He's practically invincible, but has the emotional maturity of a toddler. Combined with a mind that can think of tons of situations like this where it doesn't turn out right and plagued by nightmares about the worst thing and perhaps even getting so sick it starts messing with his mind. And there's not even the effect it would have on his family, especially Lilo. I see Lilo falling to this often in fan material, but Lilo's always been the stronger willed character I think, so it'd make more sense for her to try and take care of Stitch instead. And.... well let's just say there's a lot of potential here, even if it might not seem like it.

Sadly, the TV series could never have done a story like this. It's not light and funny enough for Disney Channel, even though the original and L&S 2 have a perfect tone to explore it with. But hopefully you enjoy this. And again, sorry about doing this to the poor guy.
